This post is seeking the amount of interest in Basic Handgun Training Classes. Joe Penaz, the same fellow that holds the Permit to Carry classes offers a number of Handgun Basic instruction.

Here is an overview. I hope Joe will hop in here and give a little more detail as to what the class outline would be.

NRA BASED COURSES NOW BEING OFFERED

NRA Basic Pistol is a course for newbees to pistols. This would be a great course for those who want to become comfortable around their spouses guns. Cost is $75.

PlaneCents Basic pistol class. Super class for the person with little or no experience with guns. 8 hours including range work (2 hours) this is a good course to get ready for the permit to carry. Cost $75

Wish we could get past the libs in this state so we could carry. No CC law, no classes needed.

I Da’ is just starting to shoot and seems interested in getting the CC Permit which I support fully. I think the last course listed would be very beneficial to her.

Yes, I would be interested in starting at the beginning. EyeJacker took me out shooting a couple times last week and I enjoyed it.

I am sorry, but I am not very good at navigating around this site. It took me a while to figure out where you meant when you said new post. First the Basic pistol class will have new bee’s knowing more about guns in most cases than their spouses. This is a great course we even take a gun apart clean it and shoot an empty shell. This is a NRA course and takes all day.
I also have a PCSD basic course that takes about 5 hours and covers enough to make a new bee comfortable with a gun. In this course you get about 1.5 to 2 hours of range time.
I also have the Refuse to be a Victim course. This is a NRA course written by women for women (but men can come too) this is a real eye opener. It will teach you all about things to do not to get into trouble. Stupid things we should not do. I really learned a lot my self when my wife and I became instructors. We do the RFTBAV course together. We could do a RFTBEV course and a PCSD basic course in one 8 to 9 hour day at the Hudson Club if there was interest. Guys this would be a chance to show your Girls you are interested and care about them enough to help them learn to defend and stay out of trouble. And Girls maybe the same for you for your guys. This is the web address about the course http://www.nrahq.org/rtbav/index.asp

Joe, it appears that there would be three interested and at least one tag-a-long husband…

Is that enough for a course in N. Hudson?

If we would be doing a basic and Refuse to be a Victim course, That would be $100 total ( $75 basic and $25 RFTBAV, this is a is a great deal) Yes. The RFTBAV is a comunity service non profit deal. I would encourage every women to contact all of her freinds to go to this. My wife is so cool and she will be co-teaching this course. We did this together for women.

Would every one who is interested in a basic course at Hudson email me [email protected] so I can get an idea as to how many would be coming? We will need to agree on a date I know. I feel the best course would be a Basic Pistol that would include 1-2 hours of actual range time and a Refuse to be a Victim NRA course after. This will be an 8 hour day. This will be a lot of information.

    Sorry for the late notice!

Please post this, I am having a Basic & permit to carry class on December 3rd. This will include shooting on my laser trainer before going to the range. Great way for the newbee’s to get both things out of the way. If you need this come to this class. All day and we feed you. This will be a great way to learn bout pistols and get the permit.
