trout se mn ?

hi I’m going camping in Frontenac state park and I heard theres some trout fishing in hay creek and around the area. Any suggestions?

Hi, You need to get information from the DNR because that stream has special regulations on different stretches of the stream. It is a good stream to fish but you need to get the DNR regulations. It really depends on what your expectations are as far as catching and release. There really is not too much of hatches occuring this time of the year except for Tricos and very small Blue Winged Olive. Small nymphs in the 18 to 22 range might be good. Good luck.
