Got home this afternoon and heard from the wife that people are beginning to make thier way to the north country around here. Thier familys and relatives and just everyday people that are here are helping these people out. I can’t even comprehend the magnatude of this natural catasrophy and loosing everything.

    check out katrinahousing.org

Read everything and make your decision. If you have a rent house or an empty basement, you could help alot.

    Nirrad:
Just support any organization that is directly helping the area. Supplies are most needed and I am sure there are drop off points in your area.
20 Dakota county and Dakota county police officers are headed to Mississippi on Tuesday. Ask your area if they are sending help and offer something.

If you want to help, I recommend cash donation to your local chapter of the american red cross. NC remains on standby to house victims.

just heard today that families are here in town and an apartment complex here is going to give them all a place to call home. Its a big apt. complex and now thier rented solid so thier helping quite a few families the way it sounds. The governer gave a speech two days ago and the state is making plans for 5000 new residents. I guess the social programs aren’t that good in the south so the state here is helping them. Have to help those in need befor they can help themselves.
