I’ve seen Muskies do this, especially on soupy/low visibility lakes like Cedar near Star Prairie or Bald Eagle. I’ve had them follow right up to the boat and then stick their head out of the water and stare at me. To be honest I find that behavior kind of creepy. Cool video, thanks!

Had a ski do this to us last fall on the Croix. She didn’t swim that close to the boat, but she swam the same way for about 100 feet. She was about 50 feet from the boat. At first, I couldn’t figure out what the heck it was.

looks to me like a muskie. it looks like vertical bars on the body. i slowed down the vidio and that is what i came up with. i also seen a muskie swim on the surface like that, the only thing different was that it’s head was out of the water. the lower jaw was about a inch or two out of the water. this was in moose lake, deer river MN, a very clear water lake………tom f

I’ve seen a Muskie do this on Big yellow lake in Wisc. The one I saw doing this was injured and he was heading toward shallow water to his final resting place.
