Wondering how to eliminate interference on a FL18 mounted on the bow and connected to a Vexilar battery. It’s hooked into a Minnkota 65AP with built in sonar.

I notice I get interference with my Lx3 it seems to have a lots to do with how close the unit itself it to the power cords of the trolling motor. I haven’t figure out a total solution yet, somedays it’s worse than others, and I don’t know why. My LX3 is an “ice pack” and I use the battery it came with to power it.

If you see a guy out there fishing with a tinfoil hat, stop by ask me how my experiments are going

If the interference is coming from the motor you could try an RF Choke.

It helps with Radio Frequency interference and can be found at Radio Shack.

Here’s a couple of helpful articles:

    RF Chokes 1

    RF Chokes 2

    Good luck!
