I had a marvelous time at the GTG Event! I was fortunate to meet alot of folks in addition to the very special James Holst. I’ll attempt to name all the others I can recall. Here we go in no particular order: Fishing Machine (a very special lady), Shane Hildebrant, Dustin, Stillakid2, Tom P, THFlounder(wife Brianna and Lilly pad, what a little doll….plan on discussing this very program with EJ, however, after the sultry weekend in the HM, this conversation may not be necessary.) Bill Cadwell, Jon Jordan, Redneck, Dinosaur, John Tucker and his brother in law, Jerry. A major disappointment was not being introduced/meeting Briank and his wife. It was good to see Dean, Chappy and wife Karen, Putz, MikeW, and the Eye-Guide again. I apologize to any I may have inadvertantly missed. I know the EyeJacker met many, many more good folks which he may try to recount. Thanks SteveO for taking him down there!

Your ‘sultry weekend’ description could be somewhat ambiguous, we, of course, know that it refers to the 2 day’s temperatures and humidity readings, others may not!

That’s not what we heard, rumor has it there was PLENTY of noise coming from the Honeymoon Cabin down there.

IF that is the case Eyejacker then how do you explain all the strange noises coming from your Cabin Saturday night? Just kidding—or am I. I’m so worn out right now that anything is funny—it sure was a good time though.

It was incredible to get to see so many old friends and get to meet so many new people! The ARM day couldn’t have gone better and the GTG was a great time. The fishing was good for the tournament, the food was awesome as always and the 3 AM texas holdem game in cabin 2 was a blast. Putz and Dino took home most of the money but Blue Fleck was voted “Best Poker Face.” His ability to control his emotions during a big hand was the envy of the table. It’s so good Tuckner thought we better take a picture to share here.

Hey Blue, hope that’s not the, “I went to the IDA GTG and my wife bought another new car” look you’re sporting there.

Sorry I missed it guys, next year….

I Da”, We heard the HM noises way over in cabin 2. Even over the intestinal noises in our place. Can’t wait until April.

Tuck, you may owe me a new cooler. Didn’t know hard plastic could absorb odors.

Thanks for your contributions at the card table Gents (loosly defined). All profits went to ARM.

Eyejacker, thanks for sharing the poc with me. If I had a real boat, we would have beat the rain.

Brian, I owe you one for that speedo pic. No fair posting it late so I didn’t see it and then bringing your wife as a shield Sat nite.

Blue, remind me not to sit next to you at a card table. I had more fun the night before when aces and pairs were coming my way.

Thanks to ARM for putting on a great event. That little bit of work was well worth it. I’ll be back next year to inhale more methane.

    putz,

when the rain falls, it is every man and boat for itself. Francis would have beaten us if he hadn’t stopped to get his jacket adn stuff on the boy. but anyway, it was good to see everyone, sorry, i don’t play cards for money. maybe next year!

Mr. Putz, I was not the only “Contributor” if you remember! Yes, I was holding my own, butt (And I mean that figuritively) the two to my left were more than representing themselves! What do you expect when you mix beer, brats, beer, burgers, beer, fish, beer, chips, beer, and pickled peppers, beer, and poker? Happens!
The news said the dewpoint that night was 86! It did indeed get hotter after sundown! I drove home at 5:00 AM…

Putz, it was fun sharing the boat with you and, as far as getting caught in the rain goes, my only regret was that not enough fell to wash those ‘sheepies’ out of the ‘poc’ boat you insisted on keeping for Lutey!

It was a great time.. the folks I met in addition to your list that come to mind are Steve Plantz, ecnook, Kooty and many others whose faces I can envision, but whose names have eluded me! Would liked to have met my neighbor from my old stomping grounds, Comanchero15, however, it wasn’t to be. Maybe next time! Many thanks to James et al for a great weekend!

Too bad! He was there! Bummer! See most of these cat guys have the white pasty faces because they don’t usually come out in the daylight! He was easy to spot!

As Briank attests to! Hey, I just noticed a major faux pas in listing names of people I met. I did also meet Steve Vick, sorry about that Steve!

The wife, lily, and Myself thank you for the compliment I DA. Good luck to you if the HM cabin did it’s magic. I thought that EJ was walking kind of funny when I got there Saturday morning.

I had a great time both days with everyone I got to see agian. Every year I get-to-know people even better at the get-to-gether, sounds like a pitch for next year. Anyway Thanks to James and the crew for setting up a great ARM event and GTG.

Also, James thank you for the heroics witht the pliers and string. For those of you that didn’t hear, I was fishing from shore and caught a Northern. I didn’t have pliers on me and Bill Cadwell said that he had them in his boat. So as I was walking to use them to remove my lure, the fish shook and I got my left index finger hooked. It went past the barb and so I was now conected to the fish. I spent about 2-3 minutes trying to figure out how to hold the fish still, get the treble out, and get the fish loose. After no luck I started to holler for some help but not very loud since, (While all of this is happening the littles are comming back in for lunch). I happend to see James walking to the piers to help bring in boats. I let out another yell but by this time I am getting weak and sounded funny. From what I was told I was white as a ghost. Anyway James comes over and asks what’s up I said I am hooked and he sees that I wasn’t just talking about the fish. He gets the fish off and back in the water, cuts the line, and we start to walk to a bench so I can sit. I start to get woozie and need to stop after a step. I breathe deep and try agian. I continue to walk toward the tents and then my ears fill up. I can bearly hear I feel drunk but I focus on getting to the tents and breathing. I get to the tent where everyone is eating lunch and I reallize I need to hide this so I don’t scare the kids. I tuck the lure, still in my finger, under my arm and walk to the end of the tents and sit. James comes over and clips the treble of the lure. Then he proceeds to snip off the other hooks, then he takes out a string loops it around the hook in my finger and yanks. But not having much sense of reality at this point, I bent my finger with the tug. So James reminds me to keep my finger straight and the 1..2..pull and it pops out with very little pain. I also thank the ladies whom helped cool me down with water and took care of my wound. Now it is all healed up and I was able to have a great time the next day with everyone at the GTG.

Thanks to the gentleman whom let me join him after the rain for some trolling, I’m sorry I forgot your name, but I enjoyed getting out on the water vs. sitting on shore.

    Thanks to everyone!

Eyejacker was telling me that he went to the docter to get his sex drive lowered and Doc says “At your age, it’s all in your head”. EJ said “Yup. That’s why I want it lowered.”

    Must have worked.

Thanks for the heads up, Putz. He has been telling me for years now that the bottle of NaNO3 he takes daily was to manage that very thing!
