ok… yeah… Ive been keeping a low profile for a while!.. thats what happens when your going all over the place shooting all kinds of things…. and this weekend I was up in grantsburg and ran across something Ive not seen before.. so I pulled out the BIG wildlife lens… and started shooting from OUTSIDE the barrier (well… heck.. Im kinda poor after buying all those lenses so I COULDNT pay! lol)…..
anyway… it was kinda fun to shoot an event like this… and I got the gear for it… and pretty soon they were asking me in to shoot for them… well… it kinda “snow balled” (yeah… pun intended!)…..
sooooooooo this was my FIRST attempt at this kind of thing… Im SURE I can do better with practice….

How did you get a baby bobcat? Was that in the wild?

well.. Im shooting with a Canon 20D… the action and wildlife shots were taken with the Canon 500 mm F4 L IS and the rest of the shots were taken with the 28-70 F2.8 L…. those are my two main lenses.. but I also use the 100 mm F2.8 macro and the Sigma 50-500 F5.6… along with various supporting gear of course…. such as tripods, remote triggers, flashes, filters, storage cards, well.. a long list of support stuff…..

    Great Work as ALWAYS, Ken!!!
You moved up to the Canon 20D now, huh! I knew it was just a matter of time before the upgrade! I know a couple track photographers that totally LOVE theirs! The picture quality is AMAZING! I’ll have one in my hands before the end of the racing season! Where did you get it? B&H? Andromada?…or around here?

Canon 500mm F4 L IS…WOW!!! Did you sell your house to get that baby? j/k In fact you have HIGH grade equipment all around. 28-70mm must be a Canon too? I have the Sigma 2.8 version, but wished i spent the big bucks on a Canon, because my Canon 70-200mm shots like a dream!

I don’t know if you seen my Red Wing fireworks or not??? They were taken with my Canon EOS-1 V and 70-200mm. It’s nothing like your top notch work, but I am having fun with it…and that’s what I enjoy about photography! You are the creator of your own work and you always find a new adventure around the corner! Keep up the excellent work, Ken! I understand what it takes to do quality work and you should hold your head high!

Zimmy those are great fireworks shots… Ive seen alot of them recently.. and these stand up to the others very well indeed!… I particularly like the 2nd one…..
yeah… my 28-70 is a canon… I always go with Canon glass these days… its the best… expensive.. but if you want quality you pay the $$…..
