kitchen drywall

    i am remodeling the kitchen and putting in new drywall behind the cabinets and was wondering what i neeed to do to the drywall. can i just finish the exposed area or do i need to finish and paint the hole thing.i am taping and mudding all the seems and holes just want to know if it woud be better to paint all the wall to preserve it or just the exposed part.. Thanks

    As long as you have all the cabinets out it does not take any longer to paint all of the wall,then just the top above. That way in 30 years when someone takes them out to update they can admire your work.

    I would put 2 good coats of paint on them walls before re-hanging the cabnets. that way when you open the door, you can see the wall color behind the stuff inside. also makes it easier to do touch up in them cabinets if they get marked up incase you where going to sell the home. that is the way some of the builders are making thier painters do it now. it works out great doing it that way. if you have any other questions, shoot me a PM, i am a painter.
