I’m trying to put together a list of the top 50 walleye lakes in the USA. I thought asking for your top 50 was a little excessive so I went with 10. So, what do you think are the top walleye lakes in the USA? Thanks to all willing to share…

Since I live in Wisconsin, my personal favorites are all Wisconsin lakes. In no order:

    Winnebago
    Mendota
    Wisconsin
    Koshkonong
    Trout
    Tomahawk
    Green Bay
    Poygan
    Castle Rock

I definitely think you need to squeeze the 2 Bay de Nocs and Green Bay in there somewhere. Kind of a tough list to make, eh ?

    Devils Lake (ND)

I am really surprised to not see Columbia river. I have heard the next world record will probably come out of there

That river is probably the best, but I think Wade was looking for lakes only??

Rivers are okay too. I’m looking for the best walleye waters in the USA (but my primary focus would be lakes). I’d like to eventually get a more regionalized perspective. I may have to break it down to the top 8-10 walleye waters in each region (maybe I should use the college football conferences as my regional boundaries, or something that’s similar). I know of several very good lakes in Kansas, Missouri, and Arkansas that aren’t getting much mention but I expect to see more MN,WI waters listed here at IDA. I’ve also seen the pics of those big girls from out in Washington state! There’s a nice eye or two out there…

    Keep ’em coming. Thanks!

I’ll just stick with lakes/rivers I’ve fished in no order:
    LOTW
    Sakakawea
    Mille Lacs
    Winnie
    Pepin
    Mississippi
    Rainy River
    Leech (used to be great)
Minnetonka (I’ve caught a lot of nice ‘eyes in Tonka)
And a little lake in the BWCA that is unbelievable!
