Been invited on a trip to Crane lake MN and Points north. Camping and boating for a week. Should be awsome with some great fishing and a little solitude. 
I am getting pretty excited about it.

Ive been going up there for a few years now, and just got back from a trip a few days ago. The eyes were biting really well way up by the Namakan river, just out of the current in about 15′. The smallies are also starting to turn on, and we boated quite a few in the same area, just casting towards shore with leeches. Good luck!
June 28, 2005 at 4:06 pm #370455I just got as well…although we stayed up at Kettle Falls and fished the Rainy side. Was UNBELIEVABLE fishing….if its calm out, stay in the current and find the breaks, the fish will be there. We used leeches and worms with equal success. Also, in the evenings, we threw stick baits and caught a bunch that way as well….Everything was working!!!
If you get a chance, go up to Kettle Falls and have a beer/pop. I think it’s quite a drive though from Crane..June 29, 2005 at 9:56 am #370568Thanks fellas…now I am REALLY chomping at the bit!
