North Central WI fishing getaway

I’m looking to meet up with a few buddies from the Green Bay area for a weekend of fishing (if we’re not busy drinking) sometime before the end of summer. We would like to keep the drive to no more than 4-5 hours for everyone involved, I’m in La Crosse. If anyone knows of a good weekend get away in north central Wisconsin please let me know. We’d prefer a cabin on the water that holds 4-6 guys. Good fishing would be a bonus.

We do the same thing every year and have been going to Hobo’s Hideout on Long Lake in Washburn County Telephone 715-354-3453 and ask for Fred. He has several cabins, a tavern in lower level of his house, a place to have campfires, and several slips for your boat(s). Prices are reasonable for the 5 of us and its about 2 1/2 hours from here (LaCrosse). On a map of the area 15min N. of Rice lake look were County D and M meet and thats real close to Hobo’s. We did ok on walleyes one day in particular the 14th. Bass are everywhere and there are several lodges on that lake if you want to bar hop. Tell Fred that Miller sent you if you call him. Take care and have fun.

Long Lake, plenty of walleye, and pike. Not to mentions some pretty nice largemouth bass in that lake.

Plenty of stops on the lake to have a couple, but have a DD if your running your boat or car please. Respect the rest of the boating nation and most of all, enjoy yourself.

Oh, big walleyes in the fall trolling the weed flats above the narrows.

Lost Land Lake Lodge outside of Hayward. Check Hayward Lakes on the internet. Great bar and restaurant. Cabins on the water and your own pier. Numbers lake for muskie and there is decent walley/bass fishing
