My friends motor started the trip occasionally turning to the left but turned to the right every time. By trips end, it didn’t turn either way. Could the pedal be bad ? He has a pedal from a 12V motor that plugs in,…are the 12 and 24V pedals interchangable? Any other thoughts on what the problem would be ?

If it’s less than 2 years old contact MinnKota…for a free replacement. If you call them and ask for their service department they can walk you through the steps to ensure that it is the pedal (more than likely it is) if you have a VOM.

    They are interchangeable.

You can go to a service center (like Capra’s in Col Heights) but they generally don’t have those parts on hand anyway…and you’ll be frustrated with their service…

I recommend going directly to MinnKota…you’ll have a smile on your face with their service!

i had the same problem one day for no reason. i swaped it out with another foot and only turned the other way. it was cold out and i think there may have been some moisture in the head, because then it worked just fine and i haven’t had a problem with it since. if you need to take it in there is a service station there in minneapolis or the one in rochester. just make sure you grab your receipt.
