    Hi all.
I posted this on the Wi. lakes forum with no responses and just a few hits. Thought I would try it here in the general forum for a little more exposer. Like the post below states, I am not looking for any secerets or spots, just want to make sure we get the kids on some action (anything) some where close to (or on) Big Muskie Lake.

Anybody fish Big Muskie lake in Vilas county? I am going there in mid June and am looking for some information as to what I can expect for fishing. I am takeing my son and there will be two other farther son(s)groups also. My son is 17 so would like to get him on some bigger fish (pike, bass, eyes)but would also like to know about the pan fishing as the kids range in age from about 5 to 13 besides my son. I am also able to jump to a different lake in the area if fishing will be better. I have heard some mixed reviews of this lake but most of them are either old or during the hard water season. I am not looking for where to fish as much as I am looking for what to expect for action!
    Thanks,
    John

In the Eagle River area Catfish and Cranberry lakes are good for panfish, walleye, and muskie/northerns. My family had gone to a resort on Cranberry for years and we fished those waters mostly. There are a few good guides that would be worth the extra $ for a day or two of placement on the area lakes. We went up a couple of years ago after a long break and had a guide for a few days. It helped us find the fish that had moved from where they had been years before. Good luck to you!
