Looking for advice on which quick-set rig you’d recommend. I see Thorne Bros lists Maina’s rig as the best. But Rollie & Helens says Smity is #1. So what do you think? Bucher? Herbie? Thanks for your thoughts.

There are two factors for successful live bait fishing with these fish.
1) The rig must be a true “quick strike”, meaning that you want to be able to set the hook as soon as the fish hits it, otherwise, dead fish due to swallowing the hook…..
2) The most critical performance of live bait rigging for muskies is rigging the sucker so it breaks free with little resistence. That way, you have hooks going into the fish’s mouth, without the sucker getting in the way of those hooks.
