Finished work early today so i decided to run down to Half Moon Lake in Eau Claire. Only brought one bait with me (White Terminator Buzzbait) and apparently it worked. Still don’t consider myself a bass fisherman, but I do enjoy catching them this size (23 in. 5.5lbs). Catching it on top-water only got me way too pumped for the MUSKY opener in 2 weeks. Can hardly control myself. Wait… Yup, I need a beer.

Just to clarify the situation: the fish was caught, photographed, and released.

Nice fish. There are quite a few big ones in Half Moon. Though a little light for 23″, especially before the spawn. They sure should have enough food with all the little sunfish in there.

She’ll be back around the next time you bring the buzzer down there!

    hi Ben,
you sure have been busting some nice BASS already this year. It’s not even season over here yet. I do agreee that at 23″ it should be heavier thatn 5.5 lbs. Keep those pics a coming!!!!!!!

Nice fish. Its about time this lake gits more coverage. I have had two steel leaders busted from Northern on this lake during ice fishing. Its a great lake.

Slop isn’t here to bust your chops today. He is out prefishing for his weekly league event. You gotta watch the bass buys, they are almost as sensitive as the muskie crowd when it comes to putting a knife to a fish.
