I have used Zing formula iv, mothers billet, metalwax.com, slimmy grimmy, mothers wheel cleaner, and many other products to achieve the deep shine I am looking for. The best of these results have been with mothers billet and metalwax cleaner then high speed (3000rpm) buff with their wax and a compound flat foam pad(milwakee). Metalwax claims that an abrasive cleaner such as mothers billet only grinds the dirt in and removes the top layer of metal to achieve this shine. That said Billet has been the best shine. Zing formula iv achieves close to the same white clean as metalwax cleaner and both contain acid, my skin tells me so. I know I should be wearing rubber gloves. Can anyone tell me of their experiences with this supposed false shine from abrasive polishes and possibly I am not oporating the buffer correctly to achieve the mirror look that metalwax claims. Thanks Jason. Good luck fishing> I’ll still be trying to get the saltwater off of my aluminum lol.

There is a product called “ouater” that works pretty well on aluminum and stainless. It is like a steel wool with a pink dry compound on it. I have seen it work well. Give it a try.
