I haven’t had any yet and I haven’t heard of any one getting them this year like usual. I love them babbies.
Normally some one brings me a bag of them.

My buddy and I went out today for probably the last time here in east-central Iowa. A good day to say the least, together we picked 17lbs of mostly yellows with a few big grays. Threw a lot away that were too far gone, crumbly and moldy.

Guess till next year it’s time to start carving them out of wood, made about 2 dozen or so far this year and mounted them on slab wood.

    Hey Adam???
You probably already know this, but in case someone else doesn’t. Make sure the mushrooms you pick are of the edible variety. People get sick and even die every year from picking the wrong ones. And morels, unfortunately, have a look-alike that are deadly (not positive on that but I’ve heard that this is true) If in doubt, throw them out!

I carve them kind of for the fun of it and to sell. Come to think of it the decoy thing could be a hoot…put some in the front yard and watch the people sneek in to pick what they think is going to be dinner !

I only found 8 last night at one of my spots level with the twin cities. It still appears to be just starting. I guess the recent cold weather delayed things. What are others finding???

I live in the Northern T.C. and went out with the kids last night looking! I couldn’t find anything but a few woodticks!
I think Morels must be the same kind of mushroom that the Smurfs lived in, and I’ve yet to see a Smurf!
