A couple of days ago was on Minnetonka. After an afternoon of Crappies fishing headed back to the ramp. walking up behind my vehicle and trailer I noticed one of the bunks looking warped. grabbing it and moving it,it felt soft and had no rigidity to it. seemed like the only think holding the wood together was the carpeting. it is only about 3 1/2 years old. doess this seem normal wear. I know Eagle will do nothing about it. and the dealer I got it from is long gone. Will prob have to fix it myself, don’t look forward to launching the boat somewhere, and doing all wood and carpet work at a boat ramp with prob no AC power for saws. any ideas to simplify this prob would be apreciated.
    Thanks. Jack…

Jack, I had this same issue with my last trailer. I bought carpet for the bunks at a boat dealer, the width is pre-cut, just make sure you get enough for the length. Then get some wolminized 2×4 ‘s for the bunks pre-cut them and carpet them,(you can get stainless steel staples at the hardware store)so when go to the boat dock, you should only need a cordless drill, drill bits, and maybe some sockets. It really was’nt that bad of a job. Hope this helps, Ron

Helped my dad replace his a couple years ago. It was simple. like was mentioned the clothe is precut to width u just need the length. we did ours in our garage. we jacked the boat off of one bunk and changed it the jacked it up off the other bunk and changed that. It worked good. it doesnt take long.

I’m curious – do you store your boat indoors or out? I also have an Eagle and have not had any problems but keep mine in the garage where it can dry out.

As much as you hear guys brag about there Eagle Tailers and how great they are you would think that they would last more than 3 years
If it was me I would complain to Eagle, tell them you will post there reply here and on every other fishing message board that you can find.

The Eagle phone no. on my owner manual did not work, this morning when I picked up my new bunk carpet in Hastings, the had the parts guy look up whatever he had for Eagle for a phone no. I called them on my drive home. he said the original Eagle went out of business last year, and this new Eagle co. bought the name, and even hired some of the original Eagle employees to make their current trailers. He offered no reason for the decay on this board, and it was rare to have a prob this early, except that not all wood is perfect . I did not feel better about it , but I am replacing two of the nine foot bunks.
As far as the storing question, I have stored the boat inside covered storage ever since I’ve owned it when it was new. Jack…

If you’re not done yet Jack, you’re welcome to drop the boat in the water while you work on the trailer here. That way, you can keep an eye on the boat while working on the trailer….with power tools. Just an idea. Let me know.
