I would like to head up to Mille Lacs for a weekend and I was thinking of camping at Kathio State Park. Is there a launch in the park and is the fishing any good in that area? Thanks for the input.

    Prof,
Kathio is south of hwy 169, and am sure it does not have any Mille lacs lake access, It might have Rum river access, and you can not boat up the Rum to Mille lacs. Check the Mille Lacs forum for any panfish action. crappies would be hard to find, but sure there are some nice ones in there. Jack..

I go camping every spring at kathio, we catch more fish in the river than in mille lacs, from the dam in the park you can catch walleyes, bass, northerns, muskies, sunnies, and even some carp and dogfish. There is a boat launch right in the state park fir the river, the river averages about 5-10 feet, but there are some spots that get real shalo if you head south on the river. I hope this helps.
