Car Accident.. Prayers.. Guide Trip.. Evans Family

    Many of you here on IDA may of heard of a bad car accident, near Lake City last week, that involved some young kids. Unfortunately, they were very close friends of the family.

    MY friends and old neighbors of Mondovi WI, Rob and Dawn Evans and their four children were hit head on near Lake City on Thursday night. They were going to or coming from picking up a new four wheeler. The other vehicle swerved to avoid debris and lost control and hit them head on. Rob, the dad, was treated and released in Lake City for bumps and bruises. Dawn, the mom, had a possible broken pelvis at the time we found out, torn bowel and broken vertebrae. Collin, 7, had a broken vertebrae, and we just learned that his spine is severed half way and his insides are very screwed up. He will be paralyzed. To my knowlegdge that will be from the waist down. Hunter, who is 6, had surgery to repair a torn aorta and as of last night is still having major complications with his insides. Rian (girl-age 4), and Ethan, 20 months, were released with no injuries that I know of. Dawn, Collin and Hunter are in Rochester at Mayo.

    My heart just goes out to them so much–their lives just changed so fast. And I feel so bad for the Mom who is laying there recovering from surgery and wants to hold her precious children , but can’t. The father is trying to spend is his time with all of them.

    They are a very nice family please keep them in your prayers for they will have a steep road ahead of them. I am hugging my children closer today and thanking God for my blessings.

    I will update you as I know more information.

    I would like to help them, so I am auctioning off a guide trip for either Pool 4 or 5 of the Mississippi River. All monies received from this auction will be placed in the Evans family account at the Alliance bank in Mondovi. Guide trip retails for $275. Anyone can start it for $100.

    Auction will end on May 1st when I return from Lake Erie.

    Man, that is heart breaking… What was important to that family last week is not on their minds today.

    You are a good friend indeed to try and help.

    What is the retail price of your guide trip?

    My guide trips for 2 people are $275, 325 for 3. Anyone can start it for $100. Anything will be more than they have now.

    These people were also acquaintance’s of mine. I played softball with Rob in Mondovi. I’ve known their family for a long time. My prayers and hearts go out to the family. Jarrad, thanks so much for what you are doing. I know this will be one guide trip you won’t forget and neither will the person who wins it. If you see the family tell them my prayers are with them. It is amazing how a simple little trip for the family ends up like this

    I was another one of the boys that came up and had a great, although too cold, trip back in March. ( at least we beat the 22 inches of snow that came just one week later)

    Thank You so very much Richard and everyone else. This family needs everyones prayers and help badly. It really hurts to see a family torn like this. The damage can be permanent and anything we can do sure helps. Very much appreciated. This site is special because of All OF YOU.     Ain’t nobody sleepin’ in a truck with this kind of offer. I have place on the Mn side looking at Alma. The highest bidder gets free food and lodging…and maybe for a weekend at my place for two guys when you go with Jarrad.

    At this time the only weekends that are not available are June 18, June 25, and July 2 (my daughter is getting married on the deck on the 25th and these are pre and post weekends for prep and cleanup). If you schedule for a weekday we might still be able to work something out…work…gotta pay the bills.
