Hi, I was fishing in a small tournament with a guide on the Croix last year shortly after the opener and there was a club also fishing in a small tournament. My question is does anyone know the name of a club or small tourney that an experienced yet amateur fisherman can get into in the east St Paul, St Croix area. Walleyes or Bass will do. Thanks

You should check out the IDA walleye tournaments on Pools 3 4 and 5. They are only $120 a team and they are a lot of fun. There are 3 more this year.
One in June and a couple in October.

Go to this link and check out maybe the Indianhead club or the Kinni club. These are both bass clubs that might hve openings and fish the area you’re looking for.

I used to fish in a club called the Water Dogs. They were the ones fishing that day. The club is limited to 30 guys and fish 6-7 tournaments a year, most are local with only 2 being on a weekend up north. Example was the last year I was in, the schedual was 1) trout on the root, walleye on the Croix, bass on Prior, crappie on Clearwater and multi on Leech and Vermiloin. All tournaments have a boater and non boater and are a team or individual. Anyone can join even if you don’t have a boat. The fee was $85.00 a year and at the end of the year the top three teams recieved a custom made fishing rod from Thorn Bros. with your specs. I have been out of the club for a couple years now (left to persue tournament fishing) but I could get a phone number to call, there may be a waiting list.

    hi Mark,
I have belonged to the Minnesota Valley In-fisherman’s Club in Apple Valley, (15 south of mpls)for about 10 years. It is actually one of two remaining clubs, that did have an afiliation with In-Fisheramn mag many years ago. A few of the current very successful PWT anglers have been past members.
we are a multi-species club and fish about 15 club events a year. one every month, and an extra one during june, july and august. we have a fall tourney up on Vermilion in sept. we have a few youth events that we sponsor boys and girls and take them out. the mille lacs launch trip each year is quite popular, we pay all the costs. our monthly meetings are fun and informative. first half is our general club meeting, and the second half is a fishing seminar by local pro’s, guides, and fishing business personnel. that’s a quick look at us. send me your phone no. or PM with any questions. would be happy to talk to you.
