Please help me. I just purchased (3) Daiwa 47LC’s. I spooled them with 10lb XT backing (about 150′) and then 300′ of 10/4 Fireline. I checked the counters accuracy with a 100′ tape and found that at 8′ of line on the tape the counter showed 11′. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m new to the site and it is awesome. Thanks

Don’t quote me on this, but I am pretty sure that the DIAMETER of the fireline, is what is trowing it of. There are also several other issues that come into play, as far as the fullness of the spool, etc.

I wonder now if adding more backing would help? Thanks

a 47LC is made for much larger diameter line. By using line that is equivelent to 4lb test in diameter you will throw off your accuracy. You can do a 10, 20, 30 foot test and then figure a formula from that.

The 47LC’s are really made for use with leadcore or for Lake Michigan type fishing where 250-300′ of 20# line can be spooled up.
If your going to use Fireline or Power Pro, the 27LC would have been a better choice. Even with the 27LC, you could have easily put on 300′ of Fireline.
Sorry, I’m sure thats not what you wanted to here.
If you bought them through Cabela’s, there is and excellent chance that you can still exchange them.

Even though they are ”off” with the line combination [mixed line sizes] you have on the reels when fishing say you catch fish with your reels showing 125 ft of line out you will be able to drop the line back out again at 125 ft again and be in the strike zone again. The reels will still do what you want them to do but will just be off some on the exact amount of line out as long as all three are rigged the same way with line. In other words, you will still be able to duplicate the amount of lime you need out to get back to into the strike zone where you caught fish.
    Thanks, Bill

Like JWB said the 47 is made for leadline, I would do one of two things either exhange them for the 27’s or put leadline on them and buy the 27’s for the fireline. Look at it this way if you put your fireline on the 27’s you should have allot of extra fireline left over
