I’ve heard of these dubuque rigs, I know they use 2 jigs, a heavy one on the bottom. Can someone enlighten me as to how to tie one up. Thanks in advance for any help. Ron

I tie my main line to a 3 way, then from the bottom of the 3 way (dropper) I tie on a jig head about 12 inches down heavy enough to maintain bottom contact, on the other swivel I tie on a plain hook with a float, or a floating jig head anywhere from a foot to 3 feet in lenth.
I think this is correct, but I call it my meat and potatoe rig. Sometimes the fish want the meat on the bottom, sometimes the potatoe on the top

Thank you, that’s exactly what I was looking for. I wasn’t clear about the three way or if there was a way to tie a dropper directly to your main line ( some kinda wacky knot ) Thanks again, Ron

    Hey ritt
You said you put a jig head on your dropper. Do you put plastic on it like a twister tail or a paddletail? Also was wondering if you could even use a hair jig.

Sal, You can use anything you want. Experiment. I usually use a twister or ringworm. Sometimes with and sometimes w/o meat. Have used hair jigs to. Just make sure you can feel bottom.
