I know it wasn’t that long ago that this subject was covered, but I looked and can’t find the thread, so I hope maybe someone can just post a link. I am going shopping Saturday for a rod to pull cranks with, and James had a great explanation on what type of rod to look for and why. Hopefully, someone can help!
    Thanks, Greg!

    Greg,

Not exactly sure what kind of trolling rod you are looking for. St. Croix Wild River series rods are really tough to beat. Myself along with several staffers here at IDA use the Wild river series rods for several purposes. Longling, 3 ways, pulling boards ,etc….
Give us a little more info on what type of trolling you plan to do and I would be happy to give you my thoughts!!

Here are a couple links from previous discussions.

I will try to find more links later today when I get time!

    Need Help on Rod Choice

I’m not sure this is the one you were looking for. They don’t really get into trolling rods. But there is some good info.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I don’t know how to type in a link to the post that had the answer I was looking for, but I did find it under Mississippi River-Walleye-Rod Sensitivity. I’ll see what I can find tomorrow at Gander….
