I have a 90HP Suzuki also that I bought last fall. My dealer told me to run standard 87 octane and that is all that I have run.
I started her up after yesterday after sitting in my garage since November. It started as easily as if the engine were warmed up. Man that is one sweet motor!
Just run the cheap stuff. Cheap?? 2.05 a gallon, thats not cheap. I might be missing my previous 6 gallon tank for my 40 merk 4strk, versus the 40 gallon for the new boat..
Thanks for the info guys. I will run nothing but 87 from now on. Pete I have to agree it is a quite running motor . I like it so far but now I don’t have a choise do I? I think it is going to be just fine.
james i’ve got the df140 in my opinion it is the best outboard on the market as far as 4 strokes goi love mine and dont think i’ll ever buy anything else
Well as far as the gas thing I read the Manuel and it is highly recomender to use alcohal FREE gas.Now another question ? Is there any other brand of props that will enterchange with Suzuki ? I need to find a 14X19 alum. that will fit a DF90 to DF140 . Will Merc. or evenrude work? I have a 14X21 alum I need to get rid of. Will trade if interested. Jim
I have a 2001 Alumacraft tournament pro 170 with a 90 Suzuki 4 stroke. I have a 14X20 SS on and wanted a spare so got the 14X21 alum. With just me in it it will only do 5200 wot with the 14X21. Now with two more witch will happen it would work it . I beleave it might get 4800 wot with three people . That is why I’m looking for the 14X19.Besides I like using a alum on the river. I will trade or keep it until I get another. Jim
