I appreciate the kind words. I saw a similar thread a few weeks ago, and also feel a sort of mental collapse is coming on. You couldn’t have scripted a more challenging route the last few years, which has now wiped me out financially/emotionally.

A note to any parents out there – if you have children that are planning on going to college, please offer advise to them. Use all the experiences that you have gained to try to offer sound advise as to what type of employment might be secure in the future (HEALTHCARE!), and what they may need to know as far as ‘personality traits’ that would allow them to flourish in a given capacity. DO NOT allow them to pick degrees based on simplicity or ease! I don’t advise holding their hands, as they will need to make decisions; however, do not just wash your hands of the situation, and tell them to figure it out for themselves. It is a crazy world today, and what may seem to be a good bet today may be obsolete very quickly…

Education is never a waste, it may just take a different situation to know how it truly applies.
I started over at age 25 and what I learned in my first go around came in very valuable on round two.
Plus without round 1 Iwould not have known that I needed my round 2
Who knows ther my very well be a round 3 and 4 just around the corner!?
    Hope that makes sense.

Agreed, Nub. I got my engineering degree at age 31 and only used calculus once in my career. It wasn’t a waste though, as it taught logical thinking. The fact that you have that piece of paper could open many unexpected doors for you. But it is no garauntee as I have seen some people with that paper that couldn’t lick a stamp correctly.

Hang in there. Life can be a rocky road at times, but adversity can make a person appreciate the simple things in life. Health, and loved ones for a start.

Changing careers is quite common in todays world, you will be a stronger person in the long run.

You are in my thoughts and prayers,

    Ron
