    I have two faded mounts and was curious if anyone has had experience in having them repainted, quality expectations, and cost vs. simply having a replica done instead.

    I would talk to John Kosec from John’s taxidermy in Hastings. This guy is magic with an air brush! 651-437-0287. Tell him Tuck sent you, and he will probably hang up!

    Haha, I made a pike mount for one of my classes at school and the paint job looked like crap.

    Jeff;

    Go to John’s like Tuck recommended, or stop in at Corcoran’s in Hampton. Either one can take care of it.

    Chuck Corcoran like Gary said is very good too.
    I once shoved a toilet paper roll up a weasels A*& and sewed it up. It looked goofy as hell, but it was fun. It kept showing up in people’s lockers in school in Pine City.

    Then I guess I shouldn’t tell you guys my flying squirrel stories!
    The weasel was gutted and tanned as much as a freshman in high school could do on his own!
    Have you ever danced a rabbit across the highway from an overpass with fishing line after bar closing? Quite fun in the right company and a very fast car!

    We definitely got to get together and tell some lies over beers sometime. Next time we run into each other, remind me to tell you about my coon hunting experiences in high school.

    Most people that wear a badge were the he!! raisers. You need to think like one to catch one. My father was a cop and let me tell you the stuff that we got away with would make a good movie.

    I said it before, we were poor. We had to find ways to amuse ourselves.
    You guys all did that kind of stuff! I am the only one to admit it!

    Never used a stuffed rabbit…….Just a scoop shovel on a thin string…..On HWY 52.

    We would hide in the ditch at night, and as a car would stop to pick up the shovel, we would pull it away as they reached for it………

    Any farmer will stop at anytime of the night to pick up a scoop shovel on the road. It is amazing how the biggest, heftiest farmer can let out the tiniest itty-bitty blood curdling screams/squeaks when the shovel moves as he grabs for it……..

    Who said anything about a stuffed rabbit?

    Everyone knows stuffing is for weasels! And maybe turkeys.
