Need a tip on tying a mono leader to 6# fireline when fishing in clear water. I have tied a bloodknot but the fireline seems to cut the mono when pulled hard. I have tried a small swivel between the two lines, however it doesn’t cast as well as a line to line connection.

I use a loop knot on the superline then join the leader with a improved clinch knot.

I usually use back to back Uni knots.

Surgeon or double surgeon knot, depending on the diameter of the mono…have had no problems…although I personally prefer PowerPro or Stealth.

Like Wadenaman, I use back to back Uni knots and have never had problems with break-offs near the knot.

I use the back to back uni. Do a google search on knots, and you can find it. I’ve tried the surgeons, and blood knots and personally found the uni’s to be the easiest to tie.

Ditto the double uni knot. It has never failed me.
