I am going to Cabo San Lucas next week and one of the days have an opportunity to go out on a charter. I do not believe I will be able to target a specific species. Any one been fishing there? What can I expect to catch?

Those climes I’d say in no particular order. sailfish, marlin, rooterfish, yellowfin (tuna), dolphin (mai mai). if someone has a small fish charter which might be cheaper, for sierra or skipjack, go try that for an ofternoon. these fish are smaller, but a 5 lb skipjack is all you can handle on light gear for at least a 20 minute battle. have fun. Zoomer,
I was there several years ago (late October) and went 2 days with San or Sal Salomar charters. They are easy to find and a very reputable bunch. Caught Dolphin & Tuna on day one (while looking for Marlin), and on day 2 we caught 2 very nice Sails and had several Marlin up.. The other nice thing was these fish are realitvly close to shore in regards to other ocean trips I’ve been on.. One word of wisdom – try to get a capt that will leave port before 8:00 – they are not in any big hurry + they wait on locals to bring them back live bait.. Our best bill fishing, and most bill action was right away in the 1st couple hours.. Go mid-day for the other species..
