What do you think? If it’s true, I think it’s a bad idea.

As long as he is going to the AFC, I OK with that.

I think the Vikes didn’t get enough for him. A team that’s 30 mil under the cap shouldn’t trade their best player. You can pick up some quality players with that kind of dough. Weirdness continues at Winter Park. I got a feeling that Minny going to lose the Vikes like they lost the Lakers.

    From the Pioneer Press:

The Vikings have agreed to trade Randy Moss to the Oakland Raiders for starting linebacker Napoleon Harris, the seventh overall pick in the upcoming draft and a 2005 late-round pick . Trades can be worked out although not announced until next month, and Moss’ agent, Dante DiTrapano, told the Pioneer Press on Wednesday that the deal is done.

“Nothing is official until March 2,” DiTrapano said. “But don’t be surprised if Randy Moss is wearing the Silver and Black this upcoming season.”

Vikings vice president of football operations Rob Brzezinski would only say, “We’ve had some discussions with them (the Raiders), but there is nothing to announce.”

Why would any team even consider trading the most talented receiver in the game? His numbers basically match those of Jerry Rice through his first 7 seasons. I think the antics/problems/etc are worth dealing with.

I agree, as a Vikings fan this guy is fun to watch. So he’s done a few bonehead things. He’s been told all of his life that those things are okay because of what he can do on a ball field.

Didn’t get near enough for him. They say that that is top dollar, well then don’t trade him. He is worth more to keep than he is to trade. Also, I agree, why trade away your best player when you are so far under the cap and there are plenty of good free agent LBs out there? Doesn’t make sense and these cheap asses better spend some of the money they have under the cap then!!

    One word…WOW!

I can’t believe they got him for so little. They must be leaving something/someone out of this trade. I’m just glad he’d be in the AFC!

I have a hard time believing that’s all they got. If so this ranks right up there with the Hershel Walker trade.

Well now I can watch my favorite player (Bill Romanowski), and the guy I can’t stand the most at the same time Sorry guys, I am not up on football, but Randy may be a good player, but he is very bad for PR.

You know, agents can be tricky … this could be a negotiation tactic. Nothing is official until March 2nd so I’m holding out hope that it’s not true.

Very disappointing to me. I love watching him streak through a secondary for a long bomb or go up in the corner for a ball. I’ll likely regret saying this, but I doubt you will see me at a game this year because of this. Why would anyone trade the best receiver in the league for an unknown(draft pick) and Napoleon(I got a bad knee)Harris. I wonder if they have any job openings at winter park, apparently you don’t have to be too smart to get one!!!

    Sad day for the purple.

Will be interesting to see how it all works out. Think it would be too early to say it is a good move for anyone except the Raiders. The Vikes DO always seem to be in a rebuilding mode. if the extra money can be used to strengthen the defense to a solid unit, that would be good, but at the expense of your premier player seems like a big gamble. Jack..

I am really upset about this because I am a Raider diehard. He is bad for team unity and this is a bad choice by the Silver and Black.

    I hate his off-field antics.
    I hate his on-field antics.
But that guy can play…when he feels like it.
If you don’t get a pot of gold for him it’s not worth it.

BTW, I’m sure they are burning the town in Green Bay as we speak. The central division just lost another contender. GB aught to walk through the division next year.

I didn’t like Randy’s on/off the field stuff, but when he was playing, what a joy to watch. Pure football entertainment!! I’m sure Kelly Campbell and Marcus Robinson can make up for his 13 touchdowns last year.

As a Raiders fan since the early 70’s we gave way to much for a player who admits that he does’nt play hard every down. Might be time to trade my Raider jersey for a Colts, a couple of former HAWKEYES on that team. Darn I’m steamed if that is true.

I’m surprised they even got that. I’m a transplanted Bears fan that lives next door to the New England Patriots’ stadium. I think it is good for the Vikes to get rid of the bad PR. Outside of MN, you only here about Moss’ stupid decisions. No one talks about the good numbers your QB had last season.

As a Raider fan you(Vikings) can have Moss.I realize he has a ton of talent, just get tired of all the bad press that is part of the “Randy Moss Show”.

The Vikings seem to always figure out a way to look like idiots!!!! They gave up an entire taem for Hershal Walker. Now they have one of the most premier players to ever play the game, and they gat an above average starter and 2 unknowns???? What a bunch of Dumb Shits!!!

I hate the Packers, but I think I will be pulling for them!!!

I hope Red McCombs looses every dime that he has and lives in poverty the rest of his life!

Hopefully Reggie Fowler will move the Vikings to Mexico!

Opinion from a Packer fan…..what the H.E double toothpicks are they doing. Why do we Packer fans hate Moss so much? Cause he always burns us – as he does other temas as well. Was his attitude towards the game so bad they felt they better cut their losses? Strange move!

best receiver in the league? Are you kidding?? Harrison, Holt yeah I’d probably agree….yes he probably has as much “talent” as those 2 but does he have the “will”? He definitely showed this year that he doesn’t want to play in Minnesota with a bunch of players that aren’t, “as good as he is”, anymore. The Vikes had no choice! I just hope he wants to play for the Raiders for their sake.

As a Bears fan I hope it’s true, but I won’t put much stock in it until trade time, this could be one of his stunts to stir things up and get people talking about him again.

I think this is good for the Vikings, but they definitely got ripped off. Unless that first round draft pick turns out to be some defensive superstar, I think they got taken on this deal. Randy has been here for 7 years and the Vikes have no Super Bowl appearances. Making it to the big show is what counts. The offense has been awesome to watch, but it really doesn’t do much for me when the opponents march right back down and score. The Vikes have a good offense w/o Moss, they just need a defense.

HE JUST NEEDS THE RIGHT DIRECTION(COACHING) BUT! WERE STUCK WITH A WASHED UP X TIGHTEND PLAYER FOR A COACH FOR ONE MORE YEAR I JUST HOPE IT WAS WORTH IT , JUS MY OPINION

I understand what you are saying Big, but Red has been the root of all the vikings defensive woes the last 6 years. He had 30 million in salary cap room to bolster his defense this year.

We could have traded Bennet straight up for Napoleon, bought a high end corner free agent, drafted a line backer and picked up another free agent D lineman with 30 mill and probably have some left over.

As for him being the best, it’s arguable those other guys are great, but they certainly don’t have moss’s pure talent. If he had a work ethic, can you imagine what he would do to defenses.
