Looks like the “Hot Dog” catagoy is the Irish Setter with 4 identified so far, skhartke, Dustin Stewart, Blue Fleck and myself! I certainly don’t consider myself a hot dog, but I can only speak for myself. Seems to me BrianK would fit in this catagory also!

    Nate,

Here is a little info on that bred:
The Owczarek Podhalanski, also known as the Polish Tatra Sheepdog, originated in the Podhale, a small, mountainous region in southern Poland. Developed as a livestock guardian, the breed is also used for personal protection, as guard dogs for private property, for military and police work, carting, and as guide dogs.
The Owczarek Podhalanski was recognized by the United Kennel Club on January 1, 1995.

    General Appearance and Characteristics

The Owczarek Podhalanski is a strong and well bound dog. Its body is impressive, expressing both power and mobility. Its temperament is calm and grave. The breed is intelligent and alert. Its imposing attitude makes it an attractive companion dog.
In silhouette, it is rectangular; the male being a little shorter than the female.

It said I was a St. Bernard.

Would you like me to help Dave?

    From Ecnook’s wife:

Ecnook is alert and lively, pleasant and exceedingly loyal. He tends to be devoted to members of their household, but are not overly friendly to strangers. As a general rule, Ecnook tends to tolerate attention from people they do not know rather than seeking such attention.

There is no denying Ecnook would stay a “puppy” forever, but with proper techniques young Ecnook’s can be trained without breaking their spirit. They are not a breed that responds well to heavy handed style obedience. Ecnook are highly intelligent dogs, as quick to spot an advantage as to spot game. Basic obedience training will make Ecnook a better companion and a better canine citizen.

Ecnook’s are capable of adapting to a variety of living situations, as long as they are assured of the love of their wives. They do, however, need plenty of daily exercise to maintain peak physical and mental condition. Ecnooks need a safe, fenced area in which to run and play. They also need to be taken for frequent on-leash walks. This breed should never be allowed to roam freely because Ecnooks have a tendency to put their noses to the ground where the hunting instinct might lead them to follow a bird or a squirrel across a busy highway.
