I am looking for a St Croix trolling rod. I believe it is 10′ (Wild River?) with casting handle. Anybody know where I can find one?

    Zamer,

Here is a link to Wild River rods from St. Croix.

Because of its uniqueness (10’6″) for the upper midwest here, I think you may find it hard to find these in the stores except for maybe near some of the great lakes areas bait shops or retail places? I would suggest buying a rod right from St. Croix or buy the blank and make the rod yourself or have some one build it for you?

    Good Luck.

These are awesome rods for trolling !

I bought one last year. I had Finn & Feather in Cedar Rapids order it. They have a storewide sale coming up. If you order one and tell them you want to get it on the sale day everything in the place is like 10% off.

I saw one 10’6″ Wild River at Cabelas in Owatonna last Friday. They only had the one so not sure you could pick up a pair if you wanted. Maybe they have more in the back?

    Steve,
Didn’t you use the Cabelas rods for trolling at one time? Any idea how they compare to the Bass Pro Walleye Angler trolling rods? The Wild Rivers are a little out of my budget at the moment so I’ll have to go cheap for now. Those W.R. rods sure look like fun though. Even though the length of them still kinda scares me a little.
Thanks for any info if you get a chance!

Yes I do have a couple of the Cabelas trolling rods. They are the ones that don’t have any guides, the line runs inside the rod. I like them but they are a bit on the heavy side (and don’t fit in my rod holders very well) I saw James using one of the St Croix Rods in Redwing, slow trolling three ways and I thought I would try one.

Got 4 of the wild river rods myself. Great trolling rods for long lining and boards. I use the model #WC106MMF2.

If you love to troll you will not be dissapointed with the wild river series They also work great for 3-waying bait with less than 3oz of weight.

I saw a couple of these on ebay awhile back. Good luck.
