I just picked up a couple of Diawa Capricorns these are very smooth but a little on the expensive side the 1500 would be a good choice

Penn Prion 905…….I can’t find anymore of them, so I settled for a Penn Captiva CV2000……the sweetest reel for under $60.

Check out Sedona, Sidestab, and Solstace models from Shimano. Relible reels at a good price point.

OKUMA, either the Metaloid or Trophy Pro. No one, I mean no one can match the quaility for the price. Try em, you’ll love em.

I have a couple of the new St. Croix Avid reels. They’re awfully nice. I ordered a Cabela’s Prodigy the other day (should be here today, actually). It looks like the Avid, and is on sale right now for $89 instead of $120. We’ll see how it looks in person.

I have tried the snoopy reel, and it did catch me a few fish … ummmm, back in the day. I think the tote is a great idea, though! What a step up fashion-wise from the tackle box I’ve been using!! It might help me get a few more of those female fish in the boat!

As long as it’s a black one,
it won’t mess up my fishing mojo,
    and I’ll go for it.

Mitchell Avocet Gold for a modest-priced reel.

Got my wife one of these last spring, and it is an awesome reel for the money. It is as smooth as a reel as I’ve ever felt. Can’t go wrong with the performance vs. price.

The question wasn’t about price or value so I’m simply going to say that if all caution is thrown to the wind, my favorite reel right now is the Shimano Stradic Mgf 1000. You’re talking walleye and crappie right?

There’s lots of reels that I really dig, all of them less expensive, but right now, that one is my favorite, hands down, no hesitation.

Personal experience allows me to recommend these spinning reels, for walleye/crappie fishing:

Shimano Sedona 1000 or 2000 model.
Shimano Stradic and Stradic Mgf models.
    Tica SA 2500
    FLW SR7100
    Quantum Pulse PL10 or PL20’s.

This is all I can recommend that I feel cross over decently. For panfish only, the list is longer.

The reels the other guys mention are good too, from what I hear from a few guys. I just haven’t used them yet so I have no say.

Good luck and have fun shopping!
