I imagine this will get some stink going with all you Wisconsin folk, but how bout them ILLINI
Great game by the Badger boys, but just a little too much fire power came there way. Toasts to a great streak. Had to end sometime!

Those boys can play ball! Those fellas that call the Kohl Center home are pretty good themselves.

The team might be Self’s recruits, but I think Weber has sure gotten the most out of those kids.

I do have to admit that the Illini played a good game. I just really disappointed in the Badgers though. They had the game several times and then started to play someone else’s game. I know Bo Ryan was pissed. I couldn’t understand some of the shot selection at the end by the Badgers. I also couldn’t believe how cold they went shooting wise, especially with their free throws. Oh well, til we meet again Orange Crush!

I’ve watched several very good teams this year meltdown in the second half against the Illini. Usually sooner than the last couple minutes. I think there is so much pressure and energy expended, they where other teams down mentally as well as physically. They are a fun team to watch, first Illinois team in many years that plays so well as a TEAM instead of a collection of good players.

Go Illini! They are still having a tough time getting some respect from the media.

I know what you mean. Did you listen to ole Dicky V last night. He was bragging them up and then would compare them to Duke or NC. I’m so sick of listening to him about the ACC. It seems every game I watch he’s the commentator. I hate it. I can’t stand the man. Even last year the Illini were good and now this year they are great and the media is still not giving them the respect they need. They never do when it comes the Big 10. The media sucks in many respects.

The Illini have an awesome team. I was impressed w/ their D in the second half, thats good they won they got to stay #1 for when they come to IOWA (now if iowa can only make some freethrows )
No really it was a good game and the badgers deserve credit for their 38 games, congrats to both. I think Dickie V ought to stay in the acc baby, or at lest give the big ten a little more love.

I thought Bruce Weber was quite gracious after the game when he said
“The Badgers are so good no one else will be able to come in and beat them at home”

Last night was not the Illini’s best ball,
when those kids are on, it’s just majical to watch their passing.

Now that the Illini has ####-canned Ron Turner
to the Bears Offensive coach maybe their football team
    will have a chance.
I’ve seen better play calling from high school coaches.

Illinois is a great team and I’m glad a team from the Big Ten is #1 in the nation(the only thing good about the Badger loss). But, if the illini would have played the game in the Kohl Center like they played in their last home game against Iowa, they would have gotten beat. I’ve watched the illini play quite a bit this year and this was their best game since they played Wake Forest! Dee Brown seems to be getting quicker and shooting the ball better with each game! And, Darren Williams is playing much better now than he did at the start of the year.

The Badgers aren’t as good as Illinois, especially with Alando Tucker having a bum foot and their McD All American 6′ 11″ Brian Butch also having a bad foot; that puts a lot of extra pressure on Morley (who is not playing well right now) and Mike Wilkinson, who has responded well and has been the Big Ten player of the week the last two weeks.

    to Illinois

    to the Baders

I have to say I’m not impressed that Butch hasn’t played much and when he has he looks sooooooo bad and uncoordinated. I think he might have been a big waste for Wisconsin. I think the only thing the half time commentators got right was that he was really over rated

I also think that butch was overrated. I think he will be a good player, but not great. Illini is the best team in college, but it is very hard to win out in the bigten. The badgers whould be #1 or 2 if harris and wade would have stayed . Bo Ryan has done excellent job at wisconsin as long as he stays wisconsin will stay near the top. Best winning percentage among all college coaches.

I agree with both of you about Butch. But, I think he will bet much better with experience and becoming more agressive.

The Badgers just came off a tough road game at Michigan on Saturday. It was also a great win for the Badgers!!! The problem is….. no time for rest and preparation for Illinois. Illinois on the other hand last played on Thursday in that tough game against Iowa. You could see at the start of the game the Illini where much fresher than the Badgers and were very quick and on fire !!!!!!!

It may have been a different game at the Kohl Center if Illinois would have had that tough game against Iowa on Saturday and the Badgers would have had the extra rest and preparation. But, we will never ever no now will we!

Here is to both teams in the future!

That pass was right after the three steals and layups in a row he did to tie the game back up. They went 15min and only scored 2 baskets. I think that must have really pissed D. Brown off, because he was possessed!

I know there aren’t in the same league as the Illini. But how bout them gophers. Surprising and pleasantly so. Fun to watch play.
IMO Illinois best team Big Ten has seen in a number of years.

I thought the officials stunk both ways.

ditto on the officials. Now if I was in Vegas during the tournament I would bet against them. After watching BB for 40 years my hunch is they will not make the final four.
