I actually got to watch the news tonight. They reported that Randy was fined $10,000.00.

My first reaction was…wow! You’ve got to be kidding! That’s a lot of cash for just having a little fun…

Now remember, I don’t follow football and could care less about the fine…or Mr. Moss.

BUT when they asked him about the fine and his reply was (I’ll try to be accurate here) “What is $10,000.00 to me?” I then realized…it should have been $10 million.

He sure makes me proud that he is the Best of the Best football players representing the Great State of MN!

My life will now resume it’s regularly schedule programing (which doesn’t include football)

GO VIKINGS! and take the Twins with ya!

You have to understand, this fine is nothing more than a show for the public. Something to appease them. Many people will say, “Good, maybe he’ll think about this the next time he wants to do something like that”! What a joke!

    Think about it like this:

Randy’s base contract calls for him to make $5,000,000 this season. That does not include incentives or bonuses.

A $10,000 fine equals .002% of that base salary. Thats the same as us loosing 2 cents out of a $100. Not much when you think about it.

Also, if I’m not mistaken, those fines go to charitable organizations, in which case he will most likely get a tax deduction, which is a nice thing when you live in his tax bracket!

I swear, if I have to sit through another Superbowl laden with commercials for Dr Porkenheimer’s Boner Juice, thrown up by some holier-than-thou, “you can’t pretend to moon someone in my league” moron, I’m gonna need an extra 12-pack.

Mooning is all about good clean fun. As American as Mom and Pecan Pie.

    Gianni,
I think you pretty much summed it up! I agree with you %100.
Including the part about the twelve pack!

P.S. How do you explain the “Levetra” comercials to a 5 year old?

I think it’s a lot easier to explain what a good or bad role model is versus why men have to take pills for a dysfunction.

As it is, I’ve seen some posts regarding pro athletes being role models. As a parent, I’ve made a promise to myself to make sure my children have good role models and know why I won’t let them emulate what the bad role models do. It is my personal belief that parents have to guide their children in the right direction. I know if my son or daughter EVER does something similar to what Randy did, I will make sure they sit on the bench to contemplate their actions. I think a lot of todays antics comes from their upbringing, kids these days seem to think even though there is no β€œI” in team, there is a β€œME.”

If Moss pretending to moon is that terrible then what about the guys that point their finger and pretend to shoot after a play. That must be about attempted murder by NFL rules. Maybe it is just my old age but the whole thing makes no sense. I have seen hundred of end zone displays that were as disgusting as Moss’s display. My personal viewpoint is these guys are paid millions to do their job so shouldn’t it be expected of them. I know at my job when we complete an assignment there is no huge celebration—it’s our job.

I agree with every thing you said except:

My kids will not be able to sit with my size 12s up there
Randy makes 10,000 in less than 60 seconds on game day. If they are going to fine players make it hurt, like a game check. I know that a mooning is good humor joke but every week it keeps getting worse.

I had to laugh at cnn the other night. they talk about moss and his “giving a moon” back to the fans. then they show the colorado mascot making a half court shot. Then the mascot does the arm pump-hip thrust deal to the crowd. Er guys that is a “dry hump” sexual comment. The media is clueless. Oh and joe buck is a dork to the Nth degree. That is why we watch the game and that is it.
