Lets hear it for the North Division Champs! It was a very nice Christmas gift to watch my beloved Packers beat the Vikings in the Phony Dome. The Pack may not make it far in the playoffs but they won the division after starting out at 1-4. I believe that Green Bay has now won the division 3 years in a row? In any case it was a good game to watch with a great final score.

    GO PACKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    indeed…

Don’t count the packers out yet…..The door has been opened w/the T.O. injury….We need to see how Philly can play w/o him…Also, Atlanta has struggled the past few weeks……

IF they play well, they might make a run……but then again..THAT’S…why they play the game

You guys crack me up. You actually think with a defense like the packers’, you will go anywhere in the playoffs. D wins championships. I do like the optimism. Sounds like some of the vikes fans at the watercooler this morning. I just laughed at the rubes.

    Kooty,

If Miami can knock off New England, The Packers have just as good as shot as anyone….If their Offense is rolling on all cylinders, their defense won’t have to be on the field…b/c YES, their defense isn’t that good.

Are you gonna become a packer fan when MN moves to CA?

I’ll likely quit watching football all together if the vikes move. I’ve lost almost all my interest in pro sports over the last couple years. I will however miss the rivalry with the pack. I had a packer fan in front of me at the game on Friday, we had an absolute blast ribbing each other throughout the game. I almost forgot I was sitting in a dome I was having so much fun.

The Pack will lose in the 1st round at Lambhole to Carolina by 2 TDs.

Farve is washed up(he didnt do anything that Joey Harrington didnt do the week before with the flu-expect throw a pick that was returned for a TD), pack stinks.

BTW-Vikings stink too, but Pack cheats. 2 referee gifts wins vs the purple. NO WAY was Birk holding on Bennett’s 15 yard gain. Gift all the way. Tice is a fool for not going for it on 4th and 4 against that horrible D at the slacker 45.

If the Packers can play without turning the ball over in the red zone (or the end zone) they can play with anyone. There seems to be a great deal of skepticism regarding the Packers chances in the playoffs. Many wrote the Pack off to go anywhere this season but look where they ended up. They might just surprise people and go all the way. Stranger things have happened. GO PACKERS!!!!!!!!!!!

The Pack cheats…lol! You may need to elaborate a little on that one.

Spoken like a true anti-Packer fan. The Vikings will be lucky to even make the playoffs…again!

If you think Favre is washed up, you must’ve overlooked the FOUR last minute drives he conducted to give GB the win. Favre is “Favre” from washed up.

THE PACK CHEAT?? RANDY (PUSH OFF) MOSS, NOW YOUR SUPERSTAR HAD A GOOD GAME, HOW MANY PLAYS DID HE WANT TO PLAY,ABOUT HALF AS MANY AS HE DID. AND WITH YOUR LUCK OF A MUFFED EXTRA POINT FROM THE LIONS THIS GAME WOULDN’T HAVE EVEN MATTERED.

    QUIT YOUR CRYING

Packers cheat-no way that Birk was holding on the Vikes final drive. As a lineman, you can hold a jersey inside the shoulder pads as long as you dont pull a player. Terrible call cost the Vikings the win. Refs want Favre in playoffs, NFL conspiracy! Field goal at the end of the half with time expiring-we would have done the same thing (if that idiot Tice would have thought of it) but it was still cheating.

Favre game winning drives-throw 2 picks every game and you will have plenty of chances to come from behind. Losses at home to Bears, Texas, Jax, all Favre’s fault.

That makes a lot of sense…. It’s a entire NFL conspiracy to get Favre in the playoffs….THEY WERE ALREADY IN DEPSITE THAT GAME….

So there goes your theory…W/B when you have some real facts.

Hmmm, I don’t remember it being Favre that fumbled the ball at the goal-line when it was returned for TD? I could’ve swore it was Green. But you’re probably right, Favre probably lost that game for them.

    You have no clue.

DID YA HEAR ABOUT THE WAR BETWEEN THE PACKER FANS AND THE VIKING FANS ?? THE VIKING FANS WERE THROWING HAND GRENADES ACROSS THE RIVER AND THE PACKER FANS WERE PULLING THE PINS AND THROWING THEM BACK.

If the NFC hadn’t been as bad as it was this year, neither one of these teams, or their fans would be talking about the playoffs right now!

I know, the saying is that “Hope springs eternal optimism”, but honestly, does anyone on this board actually think either one of these teams have a defense that could take them to the S.B., or even win it if they got there?

I’ll take Favre’s two fingers up in the air after every TD, vs. some silly dance move\pom pon spin any day…plus he catfishes, need I say more:)

YOUR RIGHT NEITHER TEAM REALLY HAS A CHANCE FOR THE SUPER BOWL BUT YOU NEVER KNOW, MAYBE WIN ONE FOR REGGIE BUT THE RIGHT TO BRAG TO THE VIKES IS PRICELESS

You packer fans must still be drunk to be this optimistic. You get a lucky break in the first half after your coach blows two red flag attempts. You get lucky and get a questionable penalty. Livin’ on luck isn’t something I’d be excited about entering the playoffs. Luck has a tendency to run out.

You’re only as good as your last game. No…….. that doesn’t help my position today, but we both know if the Pack has to face a team like Pittsburgh in the ‘Bowl, they’re going to be one closer to MN’s SB losses record!

Consider it a good year for GB. They beat the Vikes 2x, each in the closing seconds with a field goal. The GB hayday is almost over. When Favre retires……. and the Vikes build a defense……… we Vikings fans are gonna have our turn! How good is it going to feel to know that 3 previous SB wins don’t mean squat on game day? The 0-4 are going to do some gardening with the 3-1, using green and gold jerseys for fertilizer.

You’ve had a good season, but if you’re looking backward already, your belief in the Pack’s future appears weak. People usually look back when the “good ol’ days” are gone.

In years of equal tenure, the Vikes have had more playoff appearances, more championship appearances, more division championships, and more winning record seasons. What good does any of that info do come game day?

“If you run up front long enough, one of these days you’re going to score a win!” – Buddy Baker, while coaching Ryan Newman during his Rookie of the Year winning season.

If the Red Sox can win a World Series, the Vikes can win a SuperBowl!

Congratulations on winning the only 2 games I really care about! Next year’s coming……..

I’m glad we’re so-called “lucky” then! That mixed with talent is better than having a team with no luck and lack of talent/pride.

    BC.

Please take off the rose colored glasses and come back to reality!! You have Brett Favre on your team, he is the only talent. You can argue Aman (i like to fumble)Green has some talent, but I think any back will perform in that offense. It’s pretty easy to be a running back in a system like the packers run. GB is simply a mediocre team in the NFC. Don’t get me wrong, so are the vikes, but I’m not gloating about how far they will go in the playoffs either.

I can’t wait for open water!!!!

Javon Walker – Pro Bowler – 3rd leading receiver in the NFL
Ahman Green – Pro Bowler – Consistent 1000 yrd rusher
Brett Favre – No need to explain
William Henderson – Pro Bowler – argueably one of the best lead blockers in the NFL.
Offensive Line – Features multiple Pro Bowlers (past and present). Known as one of the best and most talented in the NFL.
Bubba Franks – Past Pro Bowler – Has had an off-year, but that’s because of the emergence of Walker/Driver.
Nick Barnett/Al Harris – Pro Bowl Alternates – Both could’ve went if the Pro Bowl was decided on stats.

Lack of talent? In some areas, but not many. The Vikings can’t even decide which running back to use. I’m sorry but if you’re going to argue talent, you won’t win.

Mediocre team, yes…partly because of coaching, mostly because of defense. They will take care of this in the off-season and be more prepared for next season.

I’m ready for open water as well!!!

    B.C.,

I’m not going to jump into this peeing match, but I honestly don’t think if I were you I would get to fired up about your teams offense, even with all those “talented” players. Face it, the Vikings have the absolute worse defense in the league this year, and in both of Green Bays games against us, your team could not seal a victory until the final 3 seconds in both games!!

Whats up with that? Why did such a “Talented” group of players have so much trouble against such an “untalented”, “heartless” team as the Vikings?

I’m not joining the peeing match, but the answer is simple…when it comes to rivalries as intense as GB/MN, you can throw everything out the window….Everyone knows that. If both teams were 1-14, they would both play like playoff potential teams simply b/c of who they were playing…

Same goes at any level of any sport….Rivalries bring out some of the best games of the year

If the Vikes and Jax lose on Sun, both the Pack and the Vikes did not beat anyone this year with a winning record.

GB rushing offense: 411 att 1848 yds 4.5 ave 9TDs
MN rushing offense: 369 att 1771 yds 4.8 ave 8TDs

    Who is more effective????

    GB Passing 366 comp 572 att 4223 yds 7.38 ypa 33 TD 19 int
    MN Passing 353 comp 508 att 4455 yds 8.77 ypa 37 TD 12 int

You cant honestly argue that the packer are more talented. In both the games they got the yellow flags flying their way. That is the reason for their 2 3pt wins (and Tice being a moron).

Both teams are average at best. It is funny that the Pack thinks they have a chance. Who knows, maybe they will beat a team besides the Vikes with a winning record, but will they beat 3 in a row to make it to the Super Bowl??? Get real. Carolina will trounce them. Favre retires, back to the Makowski and Mandrich years.
