Hey guys. The colder temperatures are coming. I was just wondering at what temperature do you stop using livewell in your boat? Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

I quit putting water in mine when it starts freezing outside. If I’m keeping a few to eat, I’ll either use a cooler or put them in the waterless livewell and wipe it out when I get home.

I have always used my live well, no matter how cold..Sometimes it freezes up but i have never had any problems…just the next time i go out there is no water ..so I bucket in some water and it’s good to go…put the cover on at home and the sun will take care of the rest..

I never quit using mine…I just dump some wiper fluid in there once the water is drained out to make sure any remaining water doesn’t freeze in the lines….I would think RV antifreeze would work well for this too.

Yikes!! Wouldn’t that stuff work it’s way into the water you are fishing in??

I use my livewell all year long – put duct tape around the the cover edge so the carpet won’t freeze the lid shut.
