Staying overnight in Redwing w/ the wife on Friday. Any suggestions on where to go for dinner, booze, fun, etc?

My wife and I really enjoy the restaurant in the basement of the St. James motel. Very cool spot for drinks/dinner.
I do not know where to party there.

Drive over to the Harbor bar on the Minnesota side. Some pretty good drinks and interesting people watching. The atmosphere is raggae and the food is pretty good. If the weather is nice Friday, expect alot of bikers.

St.James hotel is awesome, (restaurant in the basement, they have a couple) spendy but worth every penny, you be best advised to call ahead for a reservation though seating can get tight, and most people are dressed “casual” (not really a jean restaurante IMO). Simply the best place to eat in Redwing hands down. I think plate prices range from probably $12-$25. Nice bar nice atmosphere, great desserts.

Casino food Stay away from the buffet, worse money I ever lost at the casino, there little cafe isn’t too bad, but the buffet sucks.

We are staying at the St James, so dinner there is likely-you say reservations? Which restaurant?

Casino is a maybe, but I do plenty of gambling. She likes it, but that will be up to her.

Any fun bars in town walking (stubbling) distance from the St James?

Dave-I can’t think of the name. It’s the only fine dining in the basement. Super cool bar. My favorite bar as a matter of fact. It wreaks of old river town ambiance. There is also a nice bar upstairs called the oak room and a cafe/restaurant on the top floor. Make sure you hit the little strip mall adjacent to the south east. Cant miss it.Just across the side street. Lot’s of old pictures in there worth seeing along with the shops.

Why? The entertainment there tends to cater towards adult males.

Or so I’m told. No wise cracks now… I’ve honestly never been in there.

Herb, its a strip joint. Never been there, never will. I prefer to chase female walleyes so I just keep driving by til I get to Everts.
    Thanks, Bill

Herb, you hit it right on the head!

Last time I was in there.(last night…I think) I went up to the bar and was chased over two seats. Bouncer said can’t you read? Big sign on the bar…”stool reserved for H20 and Bill”…I ‘spose it could be someone else…

    Now I’m in trouble….

Dave, The harbor bar is across the river from Redwing. There is a nice place down the road on 63 into Wis. The Bluffs. Good food, nice bar. JLK

if you have the wife, don’t bring her to the Harbor. In my opinion, the place sucks. The bluff’s however, is a good place.
