Four guys from the Quad Cities and I just got back from our annual 8 day trip to Pool #5 at Alma.
We caught quite a few 16 to 19 inch Walleye & some nice Sauger. We also caught a 3# Channel Cat, a 6# Flathead, a 10# Carp, and 8# and 16# Sheep head while trolling for Walleye. Most of these where caught trolling a #5 jointed Shadrap in Firecraw and Shad colors.
We caught lots of very nice Crappie using jig and minnow and jigging a chartreuse 1/8 oz Gizzetshad jig. We caught lots of White Bass (Many over 2#) on small Storm Chug bugs, #7 Shad Shadrap, and ¼ oz white Roadrunner
We caught and released lots of Largemouth and Smallmouth. The big Smallmouth was 4# and the Largemouth run between 2 and 3 ½ #.
Friday morning I caught 8 Walleye and 6 Sauger. No keeper Walleye. I kept a 15 and 18 inch Sauger. I hope this points to a good population of nice Walleye in the next couple years.
Sorry no PICs as no one thought of packing a camera.
