Front end work on my ‘burb

Time to tighten every thing up! I’ve got some slop / play in the steering wheel and the beginnings of some vibration feedback that just isn’t very pleasant. Can anyone suggest a good mechanic to take a look at this type of problem? In the Rochester area of course. I would assume the ball joints may need to be replaced, idler arm replaced… possible rack / pinion but hey, what do I know?

    Thanks much for suggestions.

Check to see if you have a company called CVPros in your area.

I’ll come fix it!! I got a $500.00 part for my truck last week, brought it home and attempted to install. Hello Stupid, you are a computer geek, not a wrench. Needless to say, after 3 bloody knuckles and a broken part, I got absolutely no where. Thank god for Valley Pontiac/GMC in Waconia. They replaced the part and installed it for me, without even scolding me. Good luck buddy!!

Trust me, I know better. Besides, grease on your hands spooks fish.

I’ve had good service from G&R Truck and Auto on south Broadway (next to the 63 Club!) on both trucks and cars. It is a small two man shop and they are honest with estimates and will tell you what they can and CANNOT do. I really appreciate the latter.

Take it Laps Auto and tell him Brad from S.M. Auto sent you. He is out past Eastwood park on 14 east. Great work at great price.

I’ve had really good luck with R&L Repair in Red Wing, (I know you said the Rochester area, but maybe you could have it done during an extended vacation at Everts?) They do a great job, and are competitively priced.

So far, I have been very pleased with fleet farm — Resonable price and good work. Get an estimate from them to compare with the others.

I can tell fall is right around the corner. The Burb is getting tuned up so it can make the big trip North

Take the $$$ you would spend, and put it towards a newer rig!

Yeah, no kidding. I feel like they insulted a family member.

Actually, all I ask is for her to get me through one more winter.

If he runs it any further into the ground, the truck will have to dig it’s own grave!!

The more it rusts the less it weighs the faster it goes.

My dream vehicle is ANOTHER used and slightly less rusty suburban. What can I say, I have simple tastes… but I know what I like.

James, you sound alot like my dad. He drove really old rusted out trucks his whole life. A little bit of humor here. One day, he was driving through a local community. He x’d a bridge over a small river, and his radiator fell out!! Basically rusted right out of ol’ betsy.

    Don’t encourage him.

Maybe, since he’s driving a $40K truck and I’m ‘stuck’ driving old suburbans I should look to be raising advertising rates.

Funny, this song comes to mind when I read this post…..

    I’ll tell ya
    You can put me out
    On the street
    Put me out
With no shoes on my feet
But, put me out, put me out
    Put me out of misery
