We all know that we each cook the best burgers at home. They can’t be bought.

My favorite-at-home-burger is made on the grill with locally farm-raised buffalo (half pound), topped with Wala Wala onions, Clausen dill pickles, garden grown tomatoes, lettuce, mayo, two slices of American cheese, my homemade cottage bacon and thinly sliced ham on a Dakota Hearth bun. I use my own recipe seasoned salt for extra flavor.

Thick fries on the side, with cole slaw and a Grain Belt.

Sounds good…but it doesnt beat my sons famous burp burgers! Not sure of the recipe but Im pretty sure it has enough garlic to ward off any vampires or mosquitoes within miles, and yes the name applies to the after effects.

    ELK.

    1 lb Elk Burger
    1 egg
    ½ cup rolled oats
    ½ cup Horseraddish sauce
    1 tbsp Montreal steak spice
    2 cloves of chopped garlic

Preheat grill to 500+ (High). Mix all ingredients together and shape into four patties. Place patties on grill and sear each side. Reduce heat to low until thoroughly cooked. Serve with your choice of fixins.

I’ll take a thin patty, put a little roasted garlic paste on the patty, and then put a nice CHUNK of mozzerella cheese in the middle of the patty. Finish it off by adding some sauteed mushrooms and then place another patty over the top. Seal the edges of the patties and you’ll have one fat burger. Grill the burger. When cheese starts melting out, the middle’s hot and your burger’s done.

Allright, here is the ultimate secret burger recipe:

Grill a burger. When it’s cooked through, put a piece of pepperjack cheese on top, then place 4 jalepeno peppers on top of the cheese.

Once the cheese is melted and the peppers are stuck in place, put it on a bun and top it with (drumroll please): Honey.

It sounds wierd, but it kicks butt.
