Around here my favorites are Lerks in Afton and Kings in Mieseville. Where do find great burgers? Not counting ones made at home.

Gunder, IA. The infamous “Gunder Burger”, don’t think it’s quite 61bs though, I’d guess more around three, still a chore to eat, and extremely good tasting.

TJ Hunter’s in Lansing IA. They have fantastic burgers. Yep, they’re friggin’ huge too. There’s nothing like having 2″ of hamburger extend past the edge of the bun.

White Castle, Lions Tap (Eden Prairie) and Gordy’s Hi Hat (Cloquet). Not necessarily in that order!

A Harbor Bar Jerk burger is mighty fine on a cold febuary day of fishing on pool 4. It nice to be able to boat in there, get warmed up, and hit the rest of the day fishing again.

Hard to beat a Meister Burger at either the Stillwater or Cedar Lake locations. I do have to second that Kings in Miesville is a great place to get a burger before a Mudhens game!

There is a bar “HomeBase” in Amery WI that has the same type of burger. Pretty good

Here’s a second vote for Gordy’s in Cloquet. Also try the Timber Lodge’s “Timberburger” up the road near Cotton.

Diggy’s Dugout, NW of Leech Lake. Monster burgers, seasoned waffle fries and really cold beer. Will be up there for the Muskies Inc. Tourney in September, man I can’t wait.

The Savoy Inn in St Paul at the end of the Lafayette freeway has the best pizza.

Pizza is a tough one. I like mixing it up. Savoys for sure and Cossetas is really good too.

I agree with the Savoy Dave.
I thought you might mention the Vermillion Club on the burgers.
Your mention of White Castle makes me not wonder any more why you can only get your daughter to go fishing with you!

The best burgers I’ve ever had is our own beef from our Angus steers while growing up. Come to think of it, I don’t hardly even buy beef in the stores. You grow up in that environment, and you’re spoiled for life…
