    Caught this the other day fishing a small private pond, golden shiner? Some gizzard shad mix? Input appreciated.

    That is one chunky shiner. I caught a few chasing bass Monday and they were nothing near that girth.

    Golden shiners are so aggressive and fast. They are a blast to sight fish.

    Thanks. Well now I’m kind of sad because it would have CRUSHED the old state record…
    Looks like I’ll have to go find him again….
