Had a Blowout on my tandem axle boat trailer on Memorial Day weekend – just now getting to repairs.

Wow. Does a tire do some fender / wiring damage when it blows out.

Dents in the fender – Curled the rear part of the fender – I guess from slapping – this is heavy gauge steel!!!
Ripped off a reflector and running light
Tore up the wiring for the rear lights

I guess 75 MPH and rubber flying around can be a little hard on the equipment

Lucky you had the correct size lug wrench.

I was shocked when I found out they can be a different size then the truck.

On my old tandem trailer, I blew out the front one that took out the rear one. That is why when I ordered my new trailer I mounted 2 spares. (welded tire mounts)

4 years ago, I was going haulin my cargo trailer for one of those “friend-of-afriend’s” jobs that basically comes down to loosing money to start with. The chain reaction of events – Semi had a re-tread blow – caught my trailer tire perfectly and whipped around it – ripped the fender and side lights off – bent my tire rim – fender flew up and went into the windshield of the car behind me – ripped aluminum seam open on my trailer along the rivets. What a freak’n mess But, if you drive enough, you’ll experience just about anything

My wife asked – ” now what happens when you have another flat tire?”

Actually thought about the second spare – going forward. Good idea. I trailer a lot less these days.

Single axle trailer… and both fenders look like crap due to blowouts. Trailer tires can look like new, and just go. They take a lot of abuse… wish there was a good way to know when to actually change them…. like the week before it happens.

Had all the lugs snap off my trailer last year and through the tire. Needed a new axel. That sucked. Never even fount rim. It went off a cliff.

Yeah, been there. They do some damage when they go.
