Hey guys, I know a few of you have some in-depth knowledge with the insurance industry. I am currently living in Los Angeles and have a good job, just got engaged, and many other exciting things. However, I am sick of the city life and need to get out of here. I am looking at a job that is a ‘crop claims representative’ and iI am looking for input on what that job would entail and what a typical starting salary would be?

Any info you can provide me would be great! I am ready to get back out and be social with people, especially farmers, and this seems like it could be my chance.

    Thanks,

    Austin

I hate to write crop insurance, 2x the paperwork and 1/2 the commission as we were getting 4-5 years ago. At that rate most adjustors I know who are tied to a specific company use it as a side job. The adjustors who freelance as kind of an adjustor for any company get paid a $ for each claim adjusted or settled. No travel allowance, company car, or benefits. These are usually independants. Hope this discourages you a little
