Get up to the reefs in the angle if you can. Otherwise it will be pulling leadcore or downrigging in the basin for fish that are spread out over a large area.

Long point area would be the closest run to the reefs unless you go with a resort in the NW angle. (cross into Canada then back into MN in the angle).

Basin area out of LP is generally ok of the wind is too bad to make the run to the islands.

X2! Great time of year to get up there as there is little traffic on the lake. Check Rocky Point – they are located close to lots of the reefs.

The mtt championship is the the 12-13 just before small game opener. It will be busy. The jig bite will be good too. Shiners on a jig in front of the gap,,

That would be my suggestion as well. The walleye bite will be rocking, the crappie fishing will be good… same for muskie fishing. And the wind won’t be as much of an issue.

The last couple times up we’ve stayed at Sunset Lodge and have had wonderful trips. http://www.sunsetlodgeresort.com/

We stayed up in the Angle last year this time period and did very well in both MN and ON. It was very windy, but we were still able to fish all of the days. There are many places to hide up there. Can’t wait to go back this year!
