I was out Friday on the croix and had a little problem. I was low on oil so I decided to head back to the trailer then the alarm stayed constant. I looked and saw no water coming from the indicator. Has anyone had an impeller go out in the at the flick of a switch or should I look elsewhere? I had water out of the indicator when I left the first time from Hudson and none when I went to leave afton. It is a 2007 115hp optimax with 85 hours on it. Please help

If you have a washout plug at the impeller remove it and see if there is blockage. I’ve had my pee tube blocked before but that shouldn’t give you an alarm. If you can’t get it to pee with muffs in the yard just replace the impeller, easy job.

The impeller is plastic and rubber pretty easy the break. Also a plugged tube is possible blow it out with a compressor.

Check the oil reservoir under the cowling, if you ran the oil in the external reservoir low, it will start using oil from the engine mounted reservoir. Fill the engine reservoir right to the top, not a 1/4 inch below, right to the top. As far as why you lost the cooling water, I have no clue. Maybe the thermostat is stuck closed
