I know I know this topic has been beaten to death, but has any one found a great shop to get my knife back to its former glory. I just can’t bring my self to send $15 each knife (I have 2) to Iowa to get sharpened. I’m located north metro.

I bring my Wustof knives to Eversharp in Minneapolis. I need to get them touched up again. They’re $2-3 per knife, I believe. Google it.

Yea I get my knives sharpened at eversharp, he also will sharpen just about any other blade you bring in there. Haven’t been disappointed and it’s a cool little shop.

Agreed! It’s a cool place, and I usually have him touch up my folding knives, too. If they’re not busy, they’ll do them while you wait.

If your goal was to fillet panfish with your mower blade, I’d be he’d give it a whirl.

Last year I did some research to get my brother-in-law’s 10 year old Leech Lake knife restored to it’s former glory. The blade was dinged up and in rough shape and the handle had lost it’s finish and looked bad. I found the company that manufactures these knives for the Leech Lake knife company. Custom Cutlery and Ironworks produces these knives. I contacted them. They had me pay shipping – I think it was $10 or $12. I got the knife back in 10 days. It was restored to new condition! They resharpened the blade to new condition and they even replaced the worn out handle with same color as it was new! http://www.customcutlery.com/ Contact them and they will give you info to send it in.

With two rug rats, yeah. I recognized you, but it wasn’t till I was at the car till I put 2 + 2 together and realize who it was.

You just had one in the cart though? I just caught a glimpse of you from the side, so I wasn’t sure if it was you, but I did a double take and thought the buzz cut looked familiar. But I thought I only saw one child. The wife was with you too, correct? Did she walk out with the other one ahead of you?

That’s pretty funny, because I went in and put 2 and 2 together as well.

I had my knives into Eversharp today. Dang, it’s unreal how sharp they are!!! He almost talked me into a new Wusthof fillet knife, but I resisted the urge, mainly because I figure I’d need something to fillet in order to enjoy it.

I bought a wustof filet knife from there primarily because I am a chef. I really don’t like most of the wustof products just because they are pretty hard to sharpen myself in comparison to my shun and globals. The filet knife is pleasantly easy to get back to razor sharp on a whet stone. I like it a lot. Cool store, great guy and when you get them on sales days you can get some great deals. He is also really good to people who are professional cooks and usually hooks up with a discount so nothing bad to say about the place!
