Ok Folks, I could use some pointers on post spawn bass. Caught tons of little ones, but the biggies had lock jaw! Help!

I don’t think they have spawned yet, or are spawning now on mille lacs. I don’t know where you were fishing, but due to the cold spring, it sounds like you were catching males that were protecting the nest. Post spawn will be in a week or two

There are many ways to attack the post spawn bass. But it can still be tough to locate good fish because they are so scattered and not yet on there summer pattern. However a few good ways to target these fish first thing is to cover water this time of year the bigger fish are buried in the weeds recovering from the spawn. Try to find good weed cover or edges of weeds and cast a swim jig into the weeds and just slow roll that thing back to the boat through the weeds poping it back at times when u feel it pop out of the weeds and fall into a clean spot let it sit for a few sec.
Another way which is my favorite way is to get into a little deeper water and throw a kvd 1.5 crank bait ( square bill) and find a spot where the weeds come about 3 feet below the surface and crank that 1.5 over the tops of them weeds and u will get bit.

My favorite way to catch postspawners are on lakes with a defined inside weedline and with a swim jig or sight fish with a fluke or a senko. If the fish is moving towards your fluke/senko, don’t move it, if it loses interest, twitch it until it turns.
