I can’t wait to see Joel’s next report on lake wi. More specificly, the pics I anticipate that he will have. Lake Wi. Is not my water of specialty so I very seldom report anything on it. But it has been on fire for the upper slot fish size. Jeff Bennet has been posting some nice eaters. I’ve been struggling to get many under 22″ with many in the 25-26 and a few 27-29′.
What has been amazing is the shoulders on these pigs. For post spawn, they are very healthy.
Most of mine are coming on 5 to 7 foot flats and casting deep diving stick baits. Mostly live target rainbow smelt in silver/blue. Sub legal fish have been on crawlers and leeches.

The last 3 weeks have been on fire on the Lake.I fish it most week days and getting a limit is not hard.Drifting split shot rigs or jigs with worms or leechs on flats in 4 to 8 feet of water has been the ticket with plenty of overs and slot fish as Randy said.I have not tried the trolling or crank bait casting as the other bite has been going so good.I live on the lake during the summer and it has been a number of years since we have had a bite this good for this length of time. The crappies have been going good and the gills are moving shallow.I took the wife out Friday and got a good batch we ate that nite beer batter fried. The large white bass should start hitting on the reefs soon casting tail spinners and sonar type lures.I can not wait to try the ripping raps on them.As has been said the bite is on.
